Fresh Pasta

A simple and rewarding pasta dough to make fettuccini, spaghetti, or any other pasta application you may need. In this recipe, you will learn how to make a wonderful pasta from scratch using 4 simple ingredients

How this recipe came to be

As my culinary journey got into the meat and bones, I wanted to learn how to make every last item I use from scratch. Pasta was a great place to start. There are so many dishes that the one simple ingredient can make so much more rewarding, and now I want to share it with you! 

Fresh Pasta

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 Tsp Olive Oil

Preparation

  • On a clean surface, place the flour down and make a well in the center, making the edges of the walls are fairly tall
  • Crack the eggs and place in the center of the flour well
  • Mix the eggs and slowly incorporate the flour into the eggs
  • Once all the flour is mixed with the eggs, lightly flour the surface and kneed the pasta dough for 7 - 10 minutes
  • Oil a small bowl and place the pasta dough in the bowl, coating the dough as well
  • Cover the bowl with a damp towel or plastic wrap and let rest for 10 - 15 minutes

Finishing Touches

  • After the dough rests, you can use it for any application requiring a pasta.  You can make all sorts of pastas by putting the dough through a press or roller to create any type you may need.
